ROP Graduate Receives Offer of Employement
Roland Sison was in search of career development.
Roland successfully completed the Process Plant Operator class offered by Contra Costa County ROP in partnership with Chevron Richmond refinery. This course is an introduction to the basic equipment and processes common to the petrochemical industry, and helps prepare students for jobs in this field.
Roland credits his instructor, Nathaniel Simms, and the ROP curriculum for a major part of his success in gaining employment in a related industry. He states "Instrumentation Control was an interesting (segment of the) ROP course and the Chevron instrumentation control guest speaker really left a positive impact on me. My skills, values, and my new perspective in career development, all have been enhanced by the Contra Costa County ROP and Chevron.”
Due to his ROP training, Roland obtained employment in his field of study. He received and accepted an offer of employment from Hanna Instruments for the position of Business Development Manager.
