ROP Student Covered Presidential Inaugeration
Josai joined the Gridley High School ROP Multi Media class during his freshman year in high school. He really enjoyed learning in a fun environment that challenged him to mature and grow as a young artist. He was lucky enough to attend President Obama’s inauguration and provided video coverage and a report on the event. Josai returned to ROP his senior year and produced a great short film.
Josai learned many aspects of the media world including organization, teamwork, leadership skills, technical skills, composition and the art of storytelling. This was evident as he led his team by creating the best short film in the school’s media history. Just after graduation, he was an extra in a real Hollywood film production.
Josai is currently attending the Art Institute of California, Sacramento, pursuing a degree in video production and learning more about cinematography and editing. Additionally, he’s been creating music videos for up and coming R&B artists; he’s also learning to score music for films.
Josai told Mr. Allard, his ROP teacher, “The best part about your media class was learning how to work with a team and becoming prepared. Teamwork is such a huge part of the film industry... Being prepared is also. We learned many pre-production skills that prepared us when shooting.”
