Former ROP Student becomes Asst. General Manager
Brett completed the Hart District ROP Hotel/Restaurant class in spring 2007. He completed his on-the-job training at the local La Quinta Inn & Suites where he was subsequently hired.
Students who participate in ROP Hotel/Restaurant Operations receive concentrated classroom instruction for the first five weeks of class in order to be prepared for a restaurant or hotel internship. By the sixth week of class, students participate in the interview process at potential job sites with anticipation of placement. Once students are assigned to a job site, they learn the “front of the house” and “back of the house” operations.
Approximately 75% of the students who successfully complete this course are offered permanent positions at their internship sites. Many of our graduates have made the hospitality and tourism profession their career, employed in hotels and restaurants throughout the Santa Clarita Valley.
Brett has continued his employment with La Quinta Inn & Suites and was recently promoted within the company to Assistant General Manager at their Santa Barbara, CA, site.
