Student Success Story
Submitted By: Butte County ROP
From ROP Student to ROP Teacher
Colleen was a stay at home mom. She had taken ROP in high school and interned at a dental and medical office.
When her children were older, Colleen decided to go back to school to start a career. She enrolled in the RDA (Registered Dental Assistant) program through Butte County ROP.
Colleen worked as an RDA for over 20 years. Then, in 2012, Colleen was hired to teach at the very same RDA program she had trained at. She currently has 20 students. Colleen says, "ROP made such a difference for me and it's very rewarding to give back. ROP is an excellent way to get a great job without getting a degree. It really works."
