Jaime Receives Career Guidance
When Jaime Lopez attended Tehachapi High School, he knew he had an interest in the medical field. He just wasn't sure what area he wanted to pursue.
Jaime signed up for the ROP Health Careers, Medical Terminology, Medical Front, and Medical Back Office courses. He successfully completed all four courses. During his Medical Front and Medical Back Office courses, he received on-the-job experiences and training at the Tehachapi Hospital and other community business partners as a "Health Explorer". Jaime feels that the ROP courses really helped him become more comfortable working in public settings. The exercises he did in the classroom gave him the skills to be prepared for any workplace situation.
Jaime decided that he wanted to get a masters degree in Hospital Administration. He has completed his AA degree at Bakersfield College in Business Administration and is working on his bachelor's degree in Business Administration, with a concentration in Public Administration. Once he completes his bachelor's degree, he will have have completed about one third of the courses necessary for a master's degree in Healthcare Management. Jaime states, "My ROP classes gave me the guidance to know what I wanted to do in the medical field."
