Paying it Forward
In 1998, high school student Lance Larsen completed the South Coast ROP CISCO Internetworking Academy courses at South Coast ROP, a rigorous sequence of courses for students interested in pursuing a career in the IT industry.
Lance successfully completed levels 1 and 2 of the CISCO Internetworking Academy with hands-on real-world classroom and laboratory experiences in current and emerging network technologies. He also completed PC Support Services Technician/A+ Certification where he learned to maintain and repair PC computers.
While attending his high school ROP class, Lance started his own business, "Orange County Hosting," which he sold in 2006 for 7+ figures. Dr. Larsen continued his education by earning a master's degree from San Diego State University, followed by a Ph.D. in Information Systems from Walden University. He currently operates multiple entrepreneurial businesses, including Larson Corporation, providing Cyber Security Assistance to the government and private industry. He is a professor at his Alma Mater, SDSU, teaching Information System Security and annually provides a scholarship to a promising South Coast ROP student who exemplifies "entrepreneurial spirit," an award he won as a high school student excelling in his ROP class.
