ROP Opened Doors for Career Path
Emily Durban graduated from Big Bear High School in 2001. Today, she is thankful to have had the opportunity to take ROP classes, as they opened up many doors that led to an enriching career.
During high school, Emily had the opportunity to take Sports Therapy and Fitness and Personal Fitness Training classes, where she learned fundamental medical terminology, basic anatomy, and epidemiology of sports related injuries. Additionally, she received certifications in CPR and first aid as a result of taking these courses. These classes also provided the knowledge and experience needed to work as a student athletic trainer in college.
After graduating from the University of Redlands in 2005, Emily pursued a career in physical therapy. She attended graduate school at the University of Puget Sound, achieving her Doctorate Degree of Physical Therapy in 2010. Emily is currently an American Physical Therapist Association Board Certified Physical Therapist, with a membership in both the Orthopedic and Sports and Physical Therapy sections.
