Fire Technology Student Gains Confidence
Tony moved to Irvine and enrolled at Northwood High School without knowing anyone. He was painfully shy and insecure. Not knowing where he belonged, he searched for an outlet during his first three years. With an interest in emergency medical services, he decided to try ROP's Fire Technology class.
Tony completed Fire Technology and went on to take three more Coastline ROP courses: Emergency Medical Responder, Emergency Medical Technician, and Fire Science 101. Since the classes allowed him to go on ambulance ride-a-longs and make hospital visits, Tony was able to confirm what he wanted to do with his future.
With the skills and confidence that his ROP classes gave him, Tony decided to enroll in Fire Science classes at Santa Ana College. From there, he plans to enter into the fire academy. Tony credits his new found confidence and success to Coastline ROP. According to Tony, ROP changed his life "career-wise, mentally, and physically."
