A Message From Our President
Welcome! We are honored to have you as a member of CAROCP, the Association of Career and College Readiness Organizations. CAROCP is the place for passionate and dedicated California Career Technical Education professionals. We genuinely appreciate your decision to join us as we support a unified vision of focusing on the importance of CTE to
California’s students, schools, and to our economy.
In unprecedented times as these, it is more important than ever to promote CTE and the vital connections it provides for our students. You will find the information and resources available from our organization beneficial to you and your fellow CTE colleagues. I encourage you to read and share our website and e-mails with your teams. When the time comes for face-to-face meetings, we would love to see you. In the meantime, please join us virtually for quarterly meetings. I have been fortunate to have been a member of this organization for over 18 years. The connections, guidance, and information I have gained from this group has always been an indispensable resource to our programs. I am certain that you will find the same in your CAROCP membership.
Connecting with industry partners, educators, and legislators to ensure our curriculum is aligned with Common Core and CTE Standards and ensuring that our course offerings meet today’s labor market demands are always the focus of our members. California’s CTE courses are rigorous and relevant with many meeting UC a-g requirements. CTE students can also take advantage of many leadership opportunities, including CTSOs and internships.
Your membership with CAROCP allows us to continue our mission and strengthen our voice while providing you several benefits including, but not limited to:
- A support network that can help with nearly every aspect of delivering high-quality CTE to students
- A strong legislative voice for CTE advocacy in Sacramento
- Opportunities to connect with representatives from CDE and other CTE organizations
I look forward to meeting you and sharing our common dedication to CTE.
2020-21 CAROCP President
