Tiger ROmP - Career Tech Skills Student Challenge
On April 4, 2014, Valley ROP and Reedley Junior College will launch the 1st annual TIGER ROmP student career technical skills student challenge.
Tiger ROmP Vision: Create a safe and healthy environment where high school students can be challenged, compete and be recognized for using their Career Tech Skills. The Tiger ROmP also seeks to create a concrete connection between Reedley College learning environment and the high school students that participate at the events on the campus.
General Information: Tiger ROmP will be held at Reedley College. During the Tiger ROmP student challenge, Reedley College will also hold a special "Open House" called Safari Days, which includes craft fair, food vendors, commercial and non-profit informational displays, and family friendly and musical entertainment. This event (except for the comedy show on Friday night) is open and free to the public.
Valley ROP is inviting 8 high schools, about 400 students to compete in nine different areas: Automotive, CSI, Child Development, Welding, Business and Finance, Job Interview Skills, Word Formatting Skills, Nursing and Patient Care, Fire Fighting, Entrepreneurship.
On the same day of the student competition, Reedley College will hold Safari Days. Safari Days is an “open house” where the college will have workshops for the students about their programs, scholarship applications, enrollment, etc.
